Terms of service

Home Lotts is a free tracking tool. We are not a lottery operator, we do not sell tickets, and we do not guarantee any result. These terms set out what you can expect from us and what we expect from you.

Last updated: September 2026Applies to: thehomelott.com

1. The agreement

By using thehomelott.com you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please stop using the site — there is no account to cancel, and nothing in this service costs you money.

We may update these terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms. Material changes will be noted with a new date at the top of this page.

2. What we provide

Home Lotts is an independent, free, browser-based tracker for Australian charity and community lotteries. It lets you:

  • record ticket numbers, quantities, prices, retailers and notes in your own browser;
  • see draw dates and published results for lotteries in our catalogue;
  • see which prize tier a ticket number falls into, and how close a number was to the drawn number;
  • export that information as a spreadsheet or backup file, and delete it at any time.

The service is provided free of charge and may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued at any time. We may also add, change or remove lotteries from the catalogue.

3. What we do not do

This is the most important section on this page. Home Lotts is a tracking aid only. We do not:

  • sell, supply or distribute lottery tickets of any kind;
  • accept or process any payment, or hold money on anyone’s behalf;
  • conduct a lottery, set draw dates, or determine drawn numbers;
  • make prize claims on your behalf, or pay, guarantee or promise any prize;
  • provide gambling, financial, legal or tax advice;
  • act as an agent of any lottery organiser, charity, regulator or government body.

Every purchase, entry, draw, result and prize claim happens entirely between you and the organiser whose name appears on your ticket. Any contract you enter into is with that organiser, on their terms, under their laws.

4. Demo data

The catalogue currently shipped in this build is fictional sample data. Every lottery, draw date, drawn number, prize pool, winner count and result is invented to demonstrate the product. It is not a real draw sheet, it is not a real result, and no prize exists in relation to it.

Do not rely on demo data for anything. Do not treat a demo result as a real one. We label demo data throughout the app and explain our labelling approach in detail in how we label data.

As verified real data is introduced, each result is labelled with its source and verification status. The absence of a “Verified” label means we have not confirmed the result against a regulator-published draw sheet, and you should not rely on it.

5. Results accuracy and your reliance

We work hard to publish accurate, sourced, dated results. Even so:

  • results may be delayed, incomplete, or corrected after publication;
  • our matching of your ticket to a prize tier is an aid to checking your own stub, not an authoritative determination;
  • only the organiser can determine, and deliver, any prize.

Always check your ticket against the organiser’s official draw sheet before claiming. If we have published something wrong, tell us — see the contact page — and we will correct it and note the correction.

6. Your data

You keep all ownership of the ticket information, notes and details you enter. Because that data is stored only in your browser, you are responsible for it: protect your device, and use the export function if the information matters to you.

We do not receive your ticket data, so we cannot retrieve, restore, migrate or recover it. We cannot recover it for you because we never had it. Clearing your browser data, or pressing “Delete all my tickets”, removes it permanently.

Our handling of personal information is set out in the privacy policy.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the service for any unlawful purpose, or to harass, defame or impersonate anyone;
  • attempt to disrupt, overload, probe or gain unauthorised access to the site, its host, or any connected system;
  • scrape, mirror, republish or resell the catalogue or any part of the service without our written permission;
  • misrepresent our results as verified, or use the service to make claims about prizes that have not been confirmed by an organiser;
  • reverse engineer, decompile or interfere with the service except as permitted by law.

We may block access or take other action if we believe these terms have been breached, without notice where the situation warrants it.

8. No warranty

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any result will be available, complete, or current. We do not warrant that any ticket will be a winning ticket, or that any displayed prize is available to be claimed.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, Home Lotts and its operators are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service — including loss of stored data, missed draw dates, incorrect or delayed results, reliance on a displayed prize tier, or any decision you make in relation to a lottery ticket.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for fraud or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the service (which is $0) and the minimum amount permitted by law.

10. Changes and termination

We may modify these terms, or change, suspend or discontinue any part of the service, at any time and without notice. If the service is discontinued, you should export your data beforehand — after that point it cannot be recovered, because we never held a copy.

You may stop using the service at any time. There is nothing to cancel.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Australia and the state or territory in which the site operator is based. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that jurisdiction.

Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under the Australian Consumer Law.

12. Contact
