Privacy policy

The short version: your tickets never leave your device. There is no account, no server-side database of your tickets, and nothing to sell.

Last updated: September 2026Applies to: thehomelott.com

Summary

Home Lotts is a browser-based tool. Everything you enter — ticket numbers, notes, retailer, your name, your email, your affiliate links — is written to your own browser’s local storage on your own device. It is never transmitted to us, because there is no server component that receives it.

We do not operate accounts, and we do not ask you to sign up. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, because we do not hold any.

Who we are

Home Lotts is an independent Australian lottery tracking service. For any privacy question, correction or complaint, contact us at privacy@thehomelott.com.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any lottery organiser, charity, gaming regulator or government body.

What we collect

Almost nothing, which is the point.

Information you enter

Ticket numbers, quantities, prices, retailer names, notes, your name, your email address, your state and region, and any affiliate links you configure. All of this is stored locally in your browser and is never sent to us.

Information our hosting provider may collect

Like any website served over the internet, our host records standard server logs — IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user agent, and referring page. This is used for security, abuse prevention and diagnosing faults. It is not used to build a profile of you, and it is retained only for a short operational period.

Information you send us deliberately

If you email us or submit a report through the app, we receive whatever you choose to put in it. We use that only to investigate and reply. We do not add correspondents to a marketing list, because we do not have one.

Data stored on your device

The app stores your data in your browser’s local storage, under the key homelott.v1. This is standard browser functionality, not a tracking technology.

What that means in practice:

  • Your data is readable by anyone who can use your device and your browser profile. It is not encrypted at rest.
  • It is not synced to us, so we cannot recover it for you. That is the trade-off for us never holding it.
  • Clearing your browser’s site data, using a private window, or switching browsers or devices gives you a separate, empty portfolio.
  • The app has no server-side copy to leak, subpoena or breach. That is a genuine security property, not a slogan.

You can export a copy of everything as a CSV or JSON backup at any time from Profile → Data & privacy, and you can delete every entry in one action. Deletion is immediate and complete, because there is nowhere else for the data to be.

Cookies and analytics

The app sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. There are no third-party trackers, no pixels, and no fingerprinting.

Font files are served from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google when a page loads. If you would rather avoid that, a content-blocking extension or a browser privacy setting will prevent it; the site remains fully usable with system fonts.

Because we run no analytics, we have no idea who visits, how often, or from where — beyond the short-lived server logs described above.

Third parties and links

When you follow an ENTER NEXT DRAW button, you leave our site and arrive at a lottery organiser or an affiliate partner, and their privacy policy applies from that moment. We have no visibility into what happens on their site, and we do not receive your ticket details, payment details or any information about a purchase you make.

Outbound links carry rel="sponsored nofollow" and open in a new tab. Affiliate relationships are described in full in our affiliate disclosure.

We do not embed third-party trackers, social media widgets, or advertising networks anywhere on the site. Nothing on your screen is shared with any advertising network, because there are none.

Retention and deletion

  • Your tickets and settings — retained on your device until you delete them, either individually or with “Delete all my tickets”.
  • Server logs — retained for a short operational period for security and diagnostics, then deleted.
  • Emails and reports you send us — retained only as long as needed to investigate and reply.
  • Aggregated, non-identifying statistics — we do not collect any, so there is nothing to retain.

Your rights

Because your tickets and settings live on your device, you exercise control over them directly:

  • Access — the app shows you every entry you have added, in My tickets.
  • Export — one click produces a CSV spreadsheet or a full JSON backup.
  • Correction — edit any ticket, or your profile details, at any time.
  • Erasure — “Delete all my tickets” removes everything from your browser immediately.

If you have emailed us and want that correspondence removed, ask us and we will delete it. If a privacy concern is not resolved, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Children

Home Lotts is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. Since we collect no personal information from anyone at all, there is nothing for us to hold or delete on that basis.

Lottery tickets are gambling products restricted to adults. Please see our play responsibly page.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Because your ticket data is never transmitted, the largest realistic risk to it is someone with access to your device — which is why you should protect your device with a screen lock, and use a private window on shared computers.

No system is perfectly secure, and we make no claim that ours is. We would rather state the real risk profile than oversell it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially — for example, if we ever add a server-side feature that transmits your data — we will update the date at the top of this page and explain what changed and why. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
